Been in Dublin two full days now, and work begins in earnest tomorrow. After the wedding parties clear out of here tomorrow we'll be hip deep in internet gurus. And the hotel is a beautiful, if remote property. I've had a host of things wrong with my room, which while they aren't big, they are annoying. The deadbolt was frozen (fixed the next time I came back to the room), the heat was on (but the windows opened, and since it is rather comfortable out, no bug deal), no ethernet cord in the room (actually I am surfing the web through a cord attached from the TV).

On the plus side, it is the most old-fashioned looking, but also the most lavish bathroom I've seen in a long time (my tub is huge and has jacuzzi jets!), I'm in the garret part of the hotel, so the room has the high ceilings, but neat roof angles. And the air quality is crystal clear and pretty! Our cab driver tonight told us we've had our requisite four hours of sun so look for it to be overcast and rainy the rest of our stay. He was extremely entertaining!

It is after 8pm here, and I've just returned from dinner at the Gallagher's Boxty Pub/Restaurant in Temple Bar part of Dublin. Boxty's are odd. It is like a meat stew wrapped in a crepe made of potato flour.

I had the Mulligan Stew. A couple of days ago we walked into Saggart and ate at the Anvil Bistro, which was a lovely (expensive) dining experience. Everything so far has been mega expensive. But I can tell I will become quite tired of the hotel food fairly quickly.

Well, six thirty am comes quickly, so I am going to log off soon for bed (the sun sets around ten pm here, which gives me one more hour of daylight...).

Glad you made it safely to Dublin. :-)
And are doing well with the local cuisine. Boxty's sound like Pasty's. Likely of similar origin. meat, potatoes, veggies wrapped in a crusty bread like thing. Good description, I know, but I'm working on my language skills.
Sorry everything is so pricey. The joy of living on an island---damn near everything has to be shipped in.
Hope you continue to get to see some of the sites.
