My parent's get the daily Boston paper. I don't because it is an expense, and it is also likely I won't read the danged thing. So when I am at their house, I tend to read the paper, just because it is there and a bit of a treat.

I usually start with the "soft" news - movie reviews, book reviews, human interest, local happenings, advice columns, etc. Then I'll move into the more hardcore news about what's happening in the world (mostly bad).

During the holiday, I was reading bits and pieces and turned a page and started perusing the recent wedding announcements. Amongst all the pictures of smiling brides, and mostly content-looking grooms was a wedding photo of a fairly attractive couple announcing the marriage of Steve and Mike (not their real names) and stating all the same info as the heterosexual couples - where and when they were wed, the name of the reverend that married them, and that they were honeymooning in Europe.

Sometimes Massachusetts gets it right. And congratulations to all the "Steve and Mikes" who have been able to legally marry here for the last few years.
