dolimir_k has opened the voting for her "Opening Sentence" contest. The rules are this:
People submitted the opening sentence (and it must be *one* sentence - no matter how long or ridiculous!) to a fanfic (any fandom) in the style of George Earl Bulwer-Lytton (he of the "It was a dark and stormy night...." fame). I thought number 8 embraced the style of George Earl very well, although I noted that 5 was tangled enough to make me have to read it twice.
