So my cousins Pat and Joelle are here this weekend. We saw my brother's family (they met the girls for the first time) and wandered about his half-built house. The I drove them into Boston and we went on a NE Aquarium Whale Watch. It was sooooo coool!

First of all, it was a perfectly gorgeous day. Clear and sunny. And a beautifully crisp fall day. We saw Fin whales and Humpback whales. We did not see any Minke whales, but they are typically in the area, too. These are all species of baleen whales. The humpback whales we saw were all juviniles - and unnamed. They were probably born in the last few years and visited the feeding ground we were moving around with their mothers and were now on their own. One smallish humpback (the youngest of the three we saw) was alone, and the other two were swimming together. It was so amazing because these two were swimming in concert.

One dived, the other dived. So amazing.

Then my dad took us out to dinner. I had the crab-stuffed Halibut. For the halibut. Pancake breakfast tomorrow. Yum.
