So I generally don't do political rants or posts or anything in this space. I have a facebook account I will post at in a very low-key way since I have a lot of people there I love who are conservative to the point of stupidity. And Republican to boot. So I generally keep my political thoughts and feelings to myself.

However, I have to say this:

North Carolina, if what I am reading is true (and I haven't studied the issue, just heard folks talk about it), you just fucked yourself hard in the ass without lube. I pity the collective you and am so sorry for your short-sightedness.

Yeah, but NC isn't the only state to have things to answer for...to their kids if nothing else.

The weird thing is, people see an anti-gay measure and they get all happy to vote for it...but they don't realize who else it effects.

I posted about Obama's and Romney's positions on Gay Marriage on FB today.

Still curious...we had to "give" people the 'right' to marry between races. That is the law of the land now. It always should have been. Now, what happens, like in the case of Prop 8 in California, we somehow said, "Ya know, the original text of our 'Scary guy in the sky with a beard' book said that they weren't supposed to marry and we want to stop that now as well...

How is that different?

Lovely how just a majority vote can TAKE AWAY the RIGHTS of a minority group.

It's not about the economy. It's about the Supreme Court. They'll be making the final decision on the Prop 8 case. May they rot in hell, with the 'Santorum' concept you have for NC, if they decide wrong.

One other thing: The GOP has lost blacks, hispanics, the young, gays, etc...for at least a generation...they do know you can't win elections if you don't push the brand early? Even McDonald's (Happy Meals) knows that... Too many young people don't give a crap about this and see the GOP doing it only to hurt people for political reasons.
