So I am going to be running the lights for the dance studio's spring show. I do the light design and run the board for their "Nutcracker" performance in December (and have for the last three years), so I've worked with all these folks before. It's a great group.

And I thought "The Nutcracker" had a lot of kids in it (90+ last December) this promises to have hundreds od students... the spring show is "Lilo and Stitch" -- lots of Elvis, so I'm told. I haven't seen the song lineup yet. Well, it's only one weekend, plus set up day, so it's not like it's a huge time commitment, and they were pretty desperate. The lighting company can provide the lights, and set them up, but can't provide the tech to run them like they usually do, so all I have to do is turn 'em on and off. I figure by the last show I'll have them pretty well set.

I'll be set backstage with a video monitor, so I probably won't see much of the show.

At least I'm not a tree. I was a tree last month for "Into the Woods" and had a fabulous time, but I never did get to see the show from the front. I only got glimpses as the actors moved around me. I never did run any one over. Pity. I almost got the cow a couple of times, but she moved too fast for me. Trees are notoriously slow. I did wish for apples on occation to pelt at people a la "The Wizard of Oz" - the movie.

Well, my late lunch is coming to an end. I'm goin' back to work...
