My phone rings The landline, which I use only for calls coming in.
I answer it (as you *do* when the phone rings).
Very nice mechanical male voice says: please hold for an important call. your call will be connected within one minute.
Pause, wait, (because hi, I'm curious. not terribly bright, but curious.)
Click ... click
Not very nice female mechanical voice comes on the line in burst of static: we're sorry, your call can not be completed as dialed. please hang up and try the call again.
WHAT THE HELL TECHNOLOGY!!! YOU called ME!
