So over the last year and a half I have taken off a lot of weight. About fifty pounds of weight. Which was roughly one quarter of what I weighed at my heaviest. So I went from a size 18 jeans to about a size 8. And from a 14/16 top to a Medium (size 8ish).

Which, about ten months ago necessitated new bras. Because when you lose that much weight, you're gonna lose some boobage, too. So I went from a 42 c/d to a 38 b/c. Yes, I've always been between sizes. So I tend to like bras that are forgiving of that quirk of my body. Some C-cups are way too big, some B-cups are way too small. It all depends on style. So ten months ago, I girded my loins for battle and went In Search Of New Bras. It took the better part of five stores and an entire afternoon at the mall, but I eventually found a style that worked. And some of them made in that style were pretty and cute. Because I braved the pink and lacy interior of Victoria Secret on a whim.

So I bought all the different fabric colors in this style I could find in my size (38C worked well with this style, because the cup is stretchy and forgives that I don't stretch it out to it's fullest shape well.)

This was one of the simplest, most basic, least ornamented style of bra - no lace, no bows, no seams in weird places, very clean lines for an underwire bra. All of you women out there know where this is going. They recently REDESIGNED this line of bras - and DISCONTINUED the ones that fit so well!

We are not talking about push up or padded or even minimizing, maximizing, or in any way redefining the body's shape. Just the most basic bra you can find. Sometimes in pink, sometimes in white, I even have it in maroon. Basic. Plain. Discontinued.

ARGH!!!

It now has lace, where there used to be no lace, a fricken bow and metal charm, where before was plain and simple. AND to make it all worse? They changed the fabric completely, so there is not as much give. I tried on the 38C and it looks ridiculous on me - cups that wrinkle little bit, obviously unfilled. And the stores DON'T CARRY THE 38B! So I couldn't even try it on to see if it would work.

Why do they have to mess with something that works? I need a black bra (I have a dark grey one that might possibly work, but I kind of wanted the black). Black was the one color they were out of ten months ago when I got the others.

I have ordered a 38B from their Web site, and if it fits, great - but it means if I want others I'll have to order them online. Oh, Victoria Secret - why'd you have to do me like that?

FUCKING FIGURES OMG.

We complained about this very thing at length in RI-- and now it's gone and happened to you! A pox on them. :[

bastards.
I'm not entirely sure who it is they make bras for. There a woman somewhere for whom getting a good fit is not akin to a quest for the holy grail but I have yet to meet her.
