Happy Birthday to me.

So today kinda sucked. We went to the assisted living place and had lunch with my grandfather (their Thanksgiving dinner - at noon) and can I say institutional food is gross? But we went there to see him and have lunch with him (which is really the only good thing). After lunch he napped (for those that don't know he is ninety-three and his wife, my grandmother, died on Friday - which he only occasionally remembers). So it wasn't a really happy time. Then I went home with my folks and since the weather was balmy for New England in late November, my mother and I pruned some of the trees in the front of their house. And then she taught me the origami paper crane (this was cool and the best part of the day.). Then I stayed for soup for dinner. Not really your normal Thanksgiving fare. And we won't do anything about my birthday until Saturday at lunch.

I really hope everyone else had a better Thanksgiving than I did.

Hello!

Late happy birthday!

I guess I'm boring, because your Thanksgiving sounds fine to me! LOL!

Anyway, did you know there is a lovely TS story about Blair making paper cranes to have his wish granted? I don't want to link it here because I don't know if you'd care for that or what kind of TS fiction you read, but if you are interested, I'll give you the link. It's at 'The Archive' but that will only be helpful info if you read in a certain genre... :-)

Duh!

Forgot to give you the title, it's 'Paper Cranes'.

Re: Hello!

You are *so* cool. Thanks for the TS recommends. I totally loved it - it was just the pick-me-up I needed. And yes, I'll read just about anything. Very little squicks me - and as long as I am marginally familiar with the fandom, and the story is well-written I'll give it a shot. And if I love the author, but don't know the fandom I may give it a try anyway!

Thanks for cheering me up!

Re: Hello!

Oh, good! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I guess it stuck with me because it was loooong ago when I read it, and I recalled enjoying it, too. And 'first-time' is my favourite type of story!

Take care!
