I am packed and ready to go. San Francisco for a week (for work). Tuesday night we have an event at the California Academy of Sciences (new building in Golden Gate Park). We have exclusive run of the Rainforest, swamp, and planetarium. Should be fun.
This week there is also a huge computer gaming convention in town at the same time. The crossover there could be interesting. *Almost* a different kind of geek.
At some point during the week I might steal across the street to the Parc 55 and see if I can see what our space looks like for Azkatraz (they may have finished the renovations, but maybe not).
I am thinking of taking BART from the airport. Depends on how tired I am when we land, I think. Because if we land and I am wiped, I may need the "no thinking" approach to getting to the hotel. Also, if it is raining. One of my bosses IMed me this evening wondering if I was there yet (two flew today in order to be there for the precon tomorrow - and only three of us had to fly at all - everyone else from the company is "local"), and she said it is supposed to rain. I said rain shmrain, as long as it was above forty degrees I don't care. She said she liked my attitude :D
I will see flowering things. And while it may get cool at night (currently predicting LOWS in the forties for the next few days), it won't get *cold.* And since the weather is just unpredictable enough here (won't get out of the thirties tomorrow, today it was about 45) that I will have my winter coat along anyway.
Well, I have to be up in less than six hours in order to get to the airport, so I am off to bed. Catch you all when I get to San Francisco!

I have: my winter coat (which has seen me through a very cold and snowy winter so far), a cardigan sweater, a hoodie sweatshirt, and a couple of long sleeve shirts. My work shirts are three-quarter sleeves, and I also have a denim button down. I think I'm covered on the layers-thing! While I left my mittens in my car, I don't think I'll need 'em.

Our host is doing a terrific job - securing the social event at this facility was huge. I understand the new building has only been open for six months or so.
Regarding renovations, well, that gaming convention is using a block at the Parc55 and their Web site touts the hotel as "newly renovated," so we'll see. They should be near the end, so if I go over late in the week - say Thursday, I might be able to see *something.* And if not, well, no big.
