She readily admits that she is "friendly, but not nice." I suppose I am the opposite in her mind - "Nice, but not friendly."
I like to believe I am friendly, as well. But she is the person (not related to me) that knows me best. She also called me a misanthrope. So yeah, heavy discourse this evening.
I'd say you are friendly to those you are friends with. I'd also say you [at least used to be] inhibited to those you weren't- but this doesn't directly translate to unfriendly.
I don't think I'm overly friendly, in a prosaic "yaye chatty small talk asking for directions turns into a 20min conversation lalala" sense. But yanno, not quite MEAN, either. Maybe your un|friendly is something like this.
Hmm, never thought that you were unfriendly, maybe a bit reserved with those you don't know, or don't know well. I used to think that you were shy, but the whole "both hands" took care of that. But then again, I've been accused of being decidedly unfriendly at times, so maybe I'm not the best one to give an opinion. Honestly tho, you're wicked, ya know, the whole humor, timing etc. Which leads me to deep. So yeah, you're not unfriendly in the least, you are deep. There, I have spoken. All is well.
I also said that you're a misanthrope. And see Drvsilla's comment - this is what I mean. Not that you're not polite or even engaging, but that you tend to be shy and it's a lot easier for you to be friendly with people you have already met.

I never really thought about it before but if I tried, I could understand what she's saying. :)
You two do compliment each other extremely well. And having 'travelled' with both of you seperately, I feel like I'm an authority on the matter. :P
