Geesh. You'd think someone up there was trying to tell me something. This is the third time in the last week or so I've had the "cut the hair" dream.
I am getting mightily sick of the long hair. When wet, it now *just* brushes my waist. Naturally curly, it shrinks up a bit when dry. I shed all the time, so there is always hair - everywhere. I pull it off the backs of chairs, off freshly laundered clothing, out of the drains, up off the floor. It twists around the vacuum cleaner, so I have to first vacuum the carpets with *no* attachment, and then go back over the same ground *with* the attachment. I'm sick of finding little nests of hair all over the place! And it takes *forever* to dry. If I wash it in the morning, and then put it up, or braid it for the day, it's still a bit damp when I get home at night. If I don't braid it or put it up it dries all over the place and becomes completely untamable. I have to braid it to sleep, just so it doesn't get cuaght up under and around me when I sleep. God forbid I blow dry it - can we say big-red-afro-like-cloud? My volume has volume. If it were about six inches shorter I could straighten it with blowdryer and flat iron. Now it is just too damn long - I get tired and pain everywhere before I am halfway finished.
I want to cut it all off in the spring. Come April/May, its gone. But until then it's really nice to have to warm my back. I mean it is SIX degrees out right now. And with windchills that is down a lot more. So *any* insulation is nice to have. And for the reason of keeping the back of my neck warm, I'm not cutting it till the weather breaks.
But, good lord! If I have to have the haircutting dream for the next two months I'm gonna go barmy.
