And I've shoveled out over 14 inches of snow. Since I have somewhere I need to be early tomorrow, I went out just after the snow ended to clear the driveway and car. All I have to do tomorrow is clear what the plows plow into my driveway.
So yeah. What was supposed to be 1 to 3 inches and then 5-8 and then 6-12 ended being a "wintercane" (winter storm with hurricane force winds) and 3-6 inches of snow *per hour* at the peak of the storm. We also had thundersnowshowers (like a thunderstorm, but with snow instead). So, yeah. I spent most of the day inside my house. A little bit of cabin fever, but on the whole not bad.

4:00 pm and there was No More Snow Falling. Of course, no one had begun to dig out yet, either. The shuttles were so backed up that I walked to the parking lot (which was not the best choice, but would have been fine if anything had been plowed). Got to the lot, rested in the car for a few minutes, and dug out, and was on my way at 4:35.
Took an hour to get to Arlington, parked in the lot, went to Thai Moon for dinner. Halfway through dinner they called to say that Arlington had placed a ban on street parking and they had to cancel the show. Would we be available if they put in a matinee Saturday instead? Yes, I said reluctantly.
So I drove home (with everyone slipping and sliding and being IDIOTS on the way) with the prospect of shoveling. And when I drove by, there was a PLOW in the driveway! Glenn had us plowed. Woot. I cheerfully went around the corner to the party store and spent half an hour looking at wrapping paper, to come home to a clear driveway. I even wrote Glenn a thank-you note.
And this morning? Alex called. No matinee! double-w00t.
Hope the shows go well today. See you tomorrow!
