Spent most of the day at the gallery. We're setting the store up for the Christmas season, and next week we'll be putting up the display unit for the Christmas ornaments. So today we worked mainly in the back room. The gallery has three rooms - front, back, and upstairs. None of the spaces are very big, but they've set it up to use pretty well. I spent a little while making up some of the larger boxes to use when selling larger items, dusting everything I could reach, changing some jewelry around, setting up some spaces where some new gourds went, and helping the occasional customer. One lady I spent a good twenty minutes touring all the jewelry cases with. She actually bought some spun glass bead earrings for a friend's birthday.

I even tried them on so she could see them on me. She had a definite budget, and she stayed well within her set amount.

We didn't get out until after three. On the way to my car to go to my parent's for (late late late) lunch, I noticed a townhouse for sale was having an open house. This townhouse is in a *perfect* location (near shops, lots of trees, walk to commuter rail). The house was built in 1903, and has all the fabulous architectural details that go along with that. I believe it was built as a two family, bought a few years ago and converted to condo/townhouses - the lower unit is for sale (the upper unit is for rent). I toured both, just for kicks.

If I were the owners, I would sell the upper and rent the lower instead of the other way around. Because the upper unit is far more inviting as a *space* - and if I was going to put out over half a mil for a townhouse (I'm not), I'd want the better unit. I'm just saying. I did think the rent for the upper unit was too low for what you get where you get it, but that is just me.

Then lunch with my mom - both of us were pretty exhausted from the *day* we put in at the gallery so we sat around for the rest of the afternoon just talking and playing with the dog. Max has just turned one year old and goes in for his procedure this week (he's being "fixed").
