I had lunch today with [livejournal.com profile] drvsilla, which while having lunch with someone really isn't much of anything to note, I will say this:

I live outside of Boston, MA. Dru lives in New York. And yet, today we dined at a small table in Chicago - belonging to her very lovely little relatives. They are six and four, and were delightful, if exuberant at times because you see, they do not get to see Dru as often as they would like. Chicago/New York, it's a bit of a trek.

How very appropriate that it took a serendipitous turn of events that allowed us to have lunch and hang out for a few hours before she goes on to other parts (squeezed amongst the small relatives), and I am sequestered in the hotel for the week (no relatives, small or any other size, in sight).

I had a lovely time with Dru's family, and wish I could have met the lovely Mom-of-Dru (as both her daughters are wonderful people, how could Mom be any different?). We had sandwiches, and I nibbled on Winnie-the-Pooh animal crackers while Dru had an endless pot of tea. We played "Go Fish" with the youngins, although I think a more appropriate title would be "Go Cat Fish."

We sat and discussed the state of life. And I am convinced I *must* go see "Transformers."

Hmmm... I am now at the hotel, and Dru is likely on the road, still. It twas a Lovely Afternoon! Thanks Dru, and Sister-of-Dru for lunch and company.
