Here's hoping 2005 is better than 2004. So far, it seems to be pretty good, but it also only hours old, so that remains to be seen.

gwendolyngrace took me to The Dark Place for a New Year's party. We didn't get home before 4am. Needless to say we didn't greet this morning until it was almost over (at least I didn't - Gwen woke up when her cell phone rang at about 9:30 - poor thing!). No hangover - didn't drink too much, and I stopped drinking anything alcoholic around midnight, knowing I was going to be driving if we were going to get home before dawn.
Re-met a lot of people I met a few years ago at (another) Dark Place New Year's party (the owners of the house have labeled it such with a beautifully lettered sign, so don't think I labeled their house The Dark Place as any sort of slam). Much fun had by all. Many kisses shared with, well, everybody.
Other things done New Years Eve...
We went shopping!gwendolyngrace had some stuff to return that her mother got her, and the only store anywhere close to us to return the stuff is about 20 miles away at the outlet mall. So she exchanged a bunch of stuff (the stuff she got in return is tres chic! And then we went wandering about the mall, having never been there before. Saw the Coleman Outlet Store (camping gear) and noted it's location for future reference, bought some new shoes at the Aerosoles outlet store (after trying on practically every pair they had!). Found some tall boots on sale that had a stretch upper that actually fit around my Regular Person size calves (we despair of finding any type of boot that is knee-high (or higher) that will fit around our Normal Human Female sized calves). I did not buy them because they were a bit too shiny. They had another style I liked better, but didn't have my size so I couldn't try them on. Oh! And I got a couple of 2005 calendars at the calendar outlet.
The holidays this year were pretty stressful, and I went a little crazy with the buying of gifts (not completely overboard, but a *eentsy weensy bit crazy.* But! In Hot Topic I got myself (couldn't resist and it was 50% off!) the Sirius Black Azkaban Prison button down shirt. Oy!
So resolutions for the new year. I don't really do resolutions. Um. I resolve to do better. Be better. Write more. And take more vacation time.
