So my brother actually managed to call me on the phone before Christmas and asked me if there was anything I wanted. Yes, I replied. An electric tea kettle. What, he asked. WHY? Well, to make tea with, of course!

Yes, I have a microwave, and a stove. But there is no elegance in using the microwave, and my stove is fifty years old, and on it's last legs (the oven still works pretty well, as long as it is understood it is about fifty to seventy degrees off - it runs hot). Ineffectual for the stovetop is not an exaggeration. Most of the time it doesn't bother me because I don't cook. Sears has told me "don't call us for repair, we can't." Yes, when the kitchen gets a remodel, the stove will be one of the first things replaced, but that is likely a NEXT YEAR project, and not a THIS YEAR project. I'm just saying.

But heating water for tea is irritating, and I usually just don't do it.

Wonder of wonders, he actually listened to me and I got a swank cordless electric kettle, a mug as big as my face (it holds 2 cups), some tea, and some shortbread biscuits.

I am on my second cup of tea today. Tea is love. I had one cup of "decaf pomegranate green tea" and I am working on the second cup - organic peppermint herbal. I like the peppermint because it has exactly *one* ingredient. Organic peppermint leaves.

Mmmmmm... Tea. ♥
